Santander Bank Polska
Santander Bank Polska S.A. was established in 1988 as Bank Zachodni in Wrocław, following the restructuring of Poland's banking sector. After merging with Wielkopolski Bank Kredytowy in 2001 to form Bank Zachodni WBK, and subsequent acquisition by Spain's Banco Santander in 2011, the bank operated as Santander Bank Polska from 2018 until its acquisition by Austria's Erste Group in early 2026. Today, Santander Bank Polska S.A. is a modern universal bank serving retail clients, small and medium-sized enterprises, corporations, and public sector entities. With approximately 7,5 million clients, over 340 branches, and assets exceeding 300 billion PLN, Santander Bank Polska is the fourth-largest bank in Poland by assets.
