13.09.2018 - Bernhard Spalt to succeed Andreas Treichl as Chief Executive Officer ofErste Group Bank AG from January 2020
Erste Group Bank AG (Erste Group) announces that Andreas Treichl (66) will step down from his role asChief Executive Officer of Erste Group at the end of 2019 and that today the Supervisory Board hasappointed Bernhard Spalt to succeed him. Bernhard Spalt (50) has worked with Erste Group for morethan 25 years and has served in numerous board-level positions on subsidiary and holding companylevel, ensuring strategic continuity. He currently serves as Chief Risk Officer at Erste Group’s Austriansubsidiary Erste Bank Oesterreich.
Bernhard Spalt will step down from all other mandates before becoming Erste Group’s Deputy CEO toAndreas Treichl, which is expected mid-2019.
Following his tenure as CEO, Andreas Treichl will become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of theERSTE Foundation, Erste Group’s largest shareholder.
