ADR Programme
American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) are U.S. dollar-denominated securities issued by a U.S. depositary bank that represent a specified number of shares deposited in a foreign company. ADRs allow foreign securities to be traded on the U.S. capital market without requiring the foreign company to be listed on a U.S. stock exchange.
Two ADRs of Erste Group Bank AG represent one ordinary share of Erste Group Bank AG.
The purpose of an ADR program is to create investment opportunities for U.S. institutional investors (e.g., public pension funds and life insurance companies) that are subject to restrictions on investing directly in foreign securities.
