Pavel Kysilka decides to leave Česká Spořitelna at the end of 2015. His position will be taken by Tomáš Salomon
Pavel Kysilka decided to resign as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the end of the year 2015. He has been working for five years in this role, having held top posts in the banking industry since 1992. At Erste Group he served for seventeen years. He announced his decision to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Jack Stack, at the beginning of summer holidays. „The seventeen years at Erste Group and Česká Spořitelna was a great experience and I believe it was also mutually beneficial. I wish all the best to Tomáš, and at the same time, I cannot wait to be fully dedicated to my own new projects,“ stated Pavel Kysilka.

„For 17 years Pavel showed strong commitment to Erste Group and Ceska spořitelna, its customers and employees. The period, when Pavel managed Česká spořitelna, was demanding. Nevertheless he successfully led Česká spořitelna through the difficult period after the financial crisis and through economic recession and prepared it for another period of growth. I am thankful for his work and wish him well with his new projects,” stated Andreas Treichl, Chairman of the Management Board of Erste Group.
Česká spořitelna successfully completed its transformation of Retail Banking and its segmentation under Pavel Kysilka´s leadership; built a unified IT and back-office (Operations unit), founded “Nadace Depositum Bonum,” which is the largest foundation in the Czech Republic; started new Erste Corporate Banking brand, etc.
Effective the 1st of January 2016, the successor of Pavel Kysilka will be Tomáš Salomon, current member of Board of Directors of ČS responsible for Retail Banking. Tomáš will retain his managing responsibility for the Retail Banking in the future. Tomáš Salomon (49) joined Erste Group, owner of Česká spořitelna, in 2013. He successfully led Retail Banking at Slovenská sporiteľňa, and he moved to the same role in Česká spořitelna in January 2015.
“I do approach my new role with a great humbleness. I am aware of Česká spořitelna’s importance for the Czech Republic as well as for the Erste Group. I like challenges, and I am looking forward to moving the whole bank to the next level of customer satisfaction, innovations and services with the help of my whole team,” said Tomáš Salomon.
“Tomáš has proven at Slovenská sporiteľňa and Česká spořitelna his ability to lead Retail banking, the most important and complex part of our business. I am therefore pleased to appoint Tomáš to head Česká spořitelna in the years ahead. I am convinced he will successfully drive our goal to confirm market leadership in retail and SME business and think beyond traditional banking to serve changing customer needs,” said Andreas Treichl.
