Change in the Management Board at Erste Bank Oesterreich: Thomas Schaufler takes over responsibility for Retail business
Thomas Schaufler has been appointed Board Member responsible for the retail banking business at Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG as of 1 February 2016. He will join the Management Board team of Thomas Uher (CEO) and Claudia Höller (CFO).
Peter Bosek, who until now has held a dual role as Member of the Management Board responsible for Retail in both Erste Bank and the Holding, will from now on concentrate on his function as Board Member responsible for Retail in Erste Group.
Thomas Schaufler (born in 1970) has held several management positions at Erste Group since joining in 1993 - these have always been in the area of securities sales for retail customers of the Group and the Austrian savings banks. In addition to his responsibility for the Group-wide securities business in the retail segment, he was also Managing Director responsible for sales at Erste Asset Management. He will resign from this position as of 1 February 2016.
For Andreas Treichl, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Erste Bank Oesterreich, this appointment is “a decision made with a 100 percent focus on our customers and retail banking business. Peter Bosek will bring us, as a retail bank, even closer to our customers in our region. He will be supported in this endeavour by our digital platform, George. And in Thomas Schaufler we have a successor who, with his many years of experience in banking will, just like Peter Bosek, focus fully on the products and services that satisfy the financial needs of our customers.”
The appointment of Thomas Schaufler is subject to approval by the supervisory authorities.
