Erste Bank and VKI agree to joint solution for Brokerjet customers

Account transfer fees charged to former Brokerjet customers who have switched to a third party bank and haven't been reimbursed by their new bank, will be fully refunded.

After the discontinuation of the Brokerjet service in July 2015, a number of former Brokerjet clients have transferred their portfolios to new custodian banks. On this occasion, customers who switched to a third party bank were charged an account transfer fee of EUR 15.32 per  securities position by Erste Bank. After the Association for Consumer Information (VKI/ “Verein fuer Konsumenteninformation”) criticized the fact that these transfer costs had been passed on to customers, we made an effort together with the VKI to find a quick solution for the customers concerned, and have now come to an agreement. With this we also want to extend our apologies to customers who have been inconvenienced by these account transfers.

Based on the agreement with the VKI, Erste Bank Oesterreich will of course ensure that transfers of portfolios from Brokerjet accounts to third party banks will be free of charge, and refund any fees that have been paid since 13. July 2015, except in cases in which customers have already been reimbursed for these fees by their new custodian bank. Former Brokerjet customers can submit an application for the refund of account transfer fees from 01. March 2016 onward.

Additional information, as well as the application form for claiming the refund of account transfer fees will be available from 01.03.2016 at the following web site: www.erstebank.at/brokerjet
