Erste Group recognized as CEE’s leading Wealth Management advisor and Czech Republic’s best bank by Euromoney
- Erste Group wins Euromoney’s “Central and Eastern Europe’s Best Bank for Wealth Management” award
- Subsidiary Česká spořitelna awarded Euromoney’s Best Bank award for the Czech Republic
Erste Group Bank AG has been recognized as “Central and Eastern Europe’s Best Bank for Wealth Management” by Euromoney as part of the financial industry publication’s Awards for Excellence 2016. Euromoney also acknowledged the banking group’s subsidiary Česká spořitelna as the Czech Republic’s Best Bank. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held in London last week.
Recognized wealth management expertise in CEE and Austria
“Winning Euromoney’s Best Bank for Wealth Management award for Central and Eastern Europe is welcome recognition of our proven track record in providing best-in-class service to our wealth management clients in the region,” said Wolfgang Traindl, head of Private Banking at Erste Group. “Our competence in private banking reflects our ability to complement the broad palette of products and services of a leading retail bank with the investment know-how, as well as bolt-on services such as financial planning, provisioning and tax-related advisory, that we provide our clients.”
Erste Private Banking services 15,000 well-to-do clients with a combined wealth of EUR 17 billion across Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Romania. The banking group’s private banking activities in Austria recently garnered it the “Best for Private Banking – Austria" award presented by the specialist publication Wealth and Finance International.
Best Bank in the Czech Republic
Česká spořitelna’s win in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2016 marks the fourth time in eight years that it has received the publication’s award for being best bank in the Czech Republic.
“Our goal is to serve as guides through the complex world of finance for our clients in the retail, corporate, and public sectors, helping them find savings in their budgets. At the same time, we want to always be available wherever our clients need us. Winning the Euromoney award confirms to us that Česká spořitelna is moving in the right direction,” said Tomáš Salomon, the chairman of Česká spořitelna’s board of directors.
Česká spořitelna’s nearly five million clients make it the largest bank in the Czech Republic. It also leads in the Czech banking market it terms of its share in total loans to customers, mortgages, consumer loans and total deposits, as well as the size of its branch and ATM networks.
