Erste Bank: Stefan Dörfler becomes new chairman of the management board

On 01. October 2016 Stefan Dörfler (45), up to now head of Group Markets at Erste Group, has succeeded Thomas Uher as chairman of the management board of Erste Bank.

The mathematics graduate started his banking career at Giro Credit, before joining Erste Bank in 1997. Thereafter Stefan Dörfler was active in various management positions at Erste Group, most of which involved the capital markets business. Close cooperation with the domestic Sparkassen was always a key priority for Dörfler in this business area. Apart from his position at Erste Group, Dörfler is a member of the supervisory boards of the Vienna Stock Exchange, the VBV Pension Fund and Česká spořitelna.

The management board of Erste Bank will henceforth consist of Stefan Dörfler (CEO, corporate business), Claudia Höller (CFO an CRO) and Thomas Schaufler (chief retail officer). Mr. Dörfler's previous position as division manager at Erste Group will be taken over by Oswald Huber.
