Erste Group: Sebastian Rehse – New Head of Group Board Support and Corporate Affairs

Sebastian Rehse (32) is taking over as Head of Group Board Support and Corporate Affairs with immediate effect. His work will include working to actively shape the policy framework in Austria and Brussels and he will also develop and coordinate the central strategies for the stakeholders of Erste Group. Furthermore, he will provide direct support to the management board members of Erste Group and Erste Bank Oesterreich.

As a financial services provider, Erste Group does business in a complex environment that is characterised by rapid political change. The changes concern regulatory issues as well as changes in society and social policies.

After completing his studies of law and political science, he started his career as assistant professor at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law of the University of Vienna, and from 2012, he worked as political advisor in Brussels for Othmar Karas, Member of the European Parliament. In 2015, he started as staff member on the cabinet of the state secretary and federal minister at the Ministry of Economic Affairs where he was responsible, among other things, for the coordination of government agenda matters, location policy and the internal market. In 2017, he joined Erste Group as office manager for the management board of Erste Bank Oesterreich where he has worked up to now.
