Vaccine roll-out: marathon rather than sprint
CEE Economies Special Report , 14. Apr
Successful inoculation process will not only save lives, but will also enable easing of restrictions that hamper economic activity. The CEE region is mostly in a comfortable position as contracted amounts should cover more than the whole population in Czechia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Serbia and Hungary are the region’s clear frontrunners in the vaccine race. Both have recently exceeded the 25% mark of people vaccinated with at least one dose. Other CEE countries remain several gears behind them, lumped together at around half the level of Hungary.
